Sweating in the Finnish sauna
The Finnish sauna is the original sauna, so to speak. The sauna that started it all. So that you don't start sweating too much in the 90° hot sauna, even in the figurative sense, here are a few tips on how to take a sauna properly: For the best sauna experience, you shouldn't start sweating on an empty or particularly full stomach. It is also a good idea to take a lukewarm shower before a sauna session, both for hygienic and sweating reasons.
A warm foot bath also acclimatises the body. The heat should be approached slowly, so take a seat on the lower levels of the sauna first and limit the heat phase to 8-15 minutes, as the cardiovascular system has a lot to do at high temperatures. Then it's time to cool down. In the fresh air, in cold water or under an icy shower. It is important to start cooling down at the bottom, i.e. first the feet and then the rest of the body. The final resting phase should last at least as long as the heat phase, but of course longer.
Inner warmth in the infrared cabin
In contrast to the sauna, the body is not heated by external heat in the infrared cabin, but by the infrared light. There are therefore no restrictions on the frequency or duration of infrared sessions. However, sessions lasting between 10 and 30 minutes usually produce very good results. It is important to pay attention to your own body. As soon as you don't feel well, your skin starts to tingle, you get a headache or something similar, you should definitely leave the cabin. Especially in winter, it makes sense to treat yourself to a short session several times a week. This is because the heat and infrared rays release happiness hormones - and vitamin D can also be released. Unlike the Finnish sauna, you don't need several sauna sessions, but complete the session in one go. A short regeneration phase afterwards makes sense. And in our double cabin, you can also enjoy the cosy warmth from inside with your partner and a panoramic view!
Kneipp in the Krone Tübingen
As the name suggests, the Kneipp technique goes back to Father Kneipp, who bathed in the ice-cold Danube three times a week with a lung disease and was thus restored to health. So what does "Kneipp" mean?
Get out of the hot temperatures and into the refreshing Kneipp basin for your feet. It is important to make sure that your feet are warm before you start. Then step into the water with both legs and take turns pulling one foot after the other out of the water, moving through the ice-cold water in a ‘stork walk’, so to speak. Depending on how you feel, you can do this for between 10 seconds and 2 minutes.
Then let the water drip off, put on socks and wrap yourself in a warm blanket. Kneipp therapy is good for strengthening the immune system, increasing physical fitness and building up resistance to mental and physical stress. A quote from Sebastian Kneipp says it all: "If you don't spend a little time every day on your health, you will one day have to spend a lot of time on your illness."
Pure relaxation in the relaxation lounger
Free-swinging. Free-floating. Feel free. Our Relax loungers are only set in motion by gentle body movements, resulting in a wonderfully relaxing floating experience with a meditative and stress-reducing effect. The fact that the slow swinging and floating is beneficial has even been proven by scientific studies. Simple, slow rocking movements remind us of the rocking movements we used to make as babies and toddlers - and thus bring back positive childhood memories that promote sleep combined with stress reduction. After the sauna, after the infrared cabin or simply to relax - off to the relaxation lounger!
Fitness room - The daily workout
If you don't want to miss your daily workout at the Krone Tübingen, even on holiday or on a business trip, you can do a training session in our well-equipped fitness room in the morning before breakfast or in the evening to wind down. Both a treadmill and an ergometer provide motivation for regular fitness training, while a varied strength station is designed to strengthen a wide range of muscle groups according to your training plan and personal preferences.

- Fewer programmes make room for more time for yourself.
- Less actionism makes room for more relaxation.
- Less noise creates moments for more silence.
- Less excitement leaves room for more peace and quiet.
- Less must creates potential for more may.
Wellness begins in the mind. Taking yourself seriously.
And simply think about nothing at all. Just feel, let it happen and indulge yourself. Allow a new inner freedom for body, mind and soul. Both at work and in our private lives, we have to be productive, efficient, correct, perform at our best, meet deadlines, cope with difficult situations, make decisions, be proactive, constantly innovate, constantly update ...
All of this leads to a state of stress that initially drives us on and motivates us to be attentive and give our best. At some point, however, this overload actionism ebbs away and takes its toll. To proactively avoid this, wellness time-outs at the Krone Tübingen are the perfect opportunity to recharge our batteries and reorient ourselves. The trend word is ‘time’. And that means taking it. For the self.
In our turbo world, people insist that wellness holidays are above all about switching off and recharging your batteries. In a recently published survey, 80% of respondents cited relaxation as the most important aspect of their wellness holiday. However, this refers to a kind of wellness 2.0, with more than just massage, sauna and beauty. It is interesting to note that men relax differently to women, and young people differently to older people. More than one in three men can relax very well through exercise and sport, while more than half of all women surveyed like to read a book. The young target group up to the age of 29 can also relax through sport, but attaches particular importance to a good night's sleep in order to be able to relax in the best possible way. The older generations, on the other hand, read and favour excursions into nature. The results show: Everyone relaxes differently.
Digital detox is almost a ‘must’ when it comes to relaxation. Really letting go also means fasting from mobile phones. We are talking about ‘de-stressing’, i.e. releasing inner tension in order to achieve a state of lower energy levels. One of the most important prerequisites for this is that there are no energy guzzlers at the start. This means that all electronic devices are automatically switched off, especially during wellness times. This also resolves the issue that smartphones are frowned upon by many guests and hoteliers in wellness areas because of their camera function.
Kneipp in the Krone Tübingen
Get out of the hot temperatures and into the refreshing Kneipp foot bath. The rules of Pastor Kneipp, his way of life and healing methods are as relevant today as they were then and are very suitable for preventing and curing various diseases of civilisation. They are ideal for preventing and maintaining health, as they
- strengthen the immune system
- increase physical fitness and
- build up increased resistance to mental and physical stress
A quote from Sebastian Kneipp says it all: "If you don't spend a little time on your health every day, you will one day have to spend a lot of time on your illness."
